Since April 2010, I'm a Professor for Business Informatics and Web-Engineering at the Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Applied Sciences Münster. My main teaching activities are in the newly created Bachelor of Science curriculum "Business Informatics". Before, I worked for different companies in the software and web industry, including Xing. I obtained the academic degrees "Dipl.-Inform." and "Dr.-Ing." with distinction from the Faculty of Technology at Bielefeld University, where I also worked as a researcher within the Neuroinformatics Group led by Helge Ritter.
My current research interests are in the fields of web engineering, data mining, machine learning, massive data processing, prediction, collaborative filtering, recommender systems, semantic and social search.
